Bossa nova is a style of samba music developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil within the artistic beach culture. It literally means "new trend" or "new wave”. It is mainly characterized by a "different beat" that altered the harmonies with the introduction of unconventional chords and an innovative syncopation of traditional samba from a single rhythmic division. The term "bossa" was used to refer to any new "trend" or "fashionable wave”.

With its roots and culture, Gabi created the BOSSA LIP & BROW Technique to incorporate the new trend, new wave natural look and unconventional semi-permanent makeup with a simple sun kissed touch.
